In terms of flamboyance, Gothic architecture is more flamboyant than the Romanesque architecture and it is due to this that Gothic architecture is considered as one of the most exceptional dainty era in Europes history (Bishop). One style that is common to the Romanesque and Gothic architecture is the construction of westworks, which were archetypes of Gothic and Romanesque cathedral porticoes.
